Researchers at SYRTE, Atom Interferometry and Inertial Sensors group, report for the first time continuous rotation measurement with their ultra-sensitive cold-atom inertial sensor, using a joint interrogation scheme. The cold-atoms gyrometer breaks the previous world record with an improvement factor 30. These outstanding results are published in Physical Review Letters.
Continuous measurement with cold atoms gives new possibilities for inertial navigation, fundamental physics and geosciences.
